March 1st 2017 marks the 18th anniversary of the entry into force of the Mine Ban Treaty*. On this occasion, Handicap International is calling on States to end the use of these barbaric weapons.
ALERT – New report on the situation of mine/ERW survivors and other people with disabilities in South Sudan
Since the escalation of the conflict in South Sudan, in 2013, there has been a vacuum of information on the realities faced by conflict
survivors and other people with disabilities. This assessment intents to provide information on their current situation.
The Fifteenth Meeting of the States Parties (15MSP) to the Mine Ban Treaty will take place in Santiago, Chile, from 28 November to 1 December 2016. Handicap International will contribute to the meeting.

Today in New York, states met to discuss how the international community should respond to the harm to civilians caused by the use of explosive weapons in populated areas. On this occasion, Handicap International was the only individual NGO invited to deliver a speech.
