On 5 February, the “Group of Friends” of Member States supporting the Charter on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action organized a session on making humanitarian action inclusive of people with disabilities at the 2019 Humanitarian Networks and Partnership Week (HNPW) in Geneva.

Last week, 93 States parties, 11 observer states, UN-Institutions, International Organisations and the big range of active members of ICBL, such as HI, exchanged at the yearly meeting of states parties about successes and challenges concerning the implementation of the Ottawa Convention.

On the 24th of April started the Conference “Supporting the future of Syria and the region”, co-hosted by the UN and the European Union. On the same day, HI kicked off a series of events in Brussels to mobilise decision makers and public opinion about bombing and shelling in populated areas.
