6th Meeting of States Parties to the Cluster Munitions Convention

The Convention on Cluster Munitions indicates that the State parties “shall meet regularly in order to consider and, where necessary, take decisions in respect of any matter with regard to the application or implementation of this Convention”. All State parties are invited by the Secretary-General of the UN to the annual Meetings of States Parties (MSP). The 6th MSP will take place from the 5th to the 7th September 2016, in Geneva.

Published today, the Cluster Munition Monitor 2016 reveals the intensive and repeated use of cluster munitions in Syria and Yemen: 76 attacks have been officially recorded in Syria since September 2015 and 19 in Yemen since March 2015.
